Three senior leaders with a combined four decades at Axis Bank have resigned, following the CFO's exit weeks earlier — signalling a strategic shift in how the bank runs corporate banking.
Axis Bank has seen three senior treasury and corporate banking executives resign within a single month. Anil Agarwal, Group Head of Institutional Clients and a 20+ year veteran at the bank, has stepped down.
Vikas Shinde, Head of Debt Capital Markets with roughly 20 years at Axis, has also resigned, along with Jimmy Tavadia, Group Head of Trading, who joined the bank in 2019.
These exits come just weeks after Axis Bank's CFO, Puneet Sharma, left in a high-profile departure — adding to the sense of a broader leadership churn at the top of the bank's corporate and treasury functions.
Under CEO Amitabh Chaudhry, Axis Bank has pushed digital transformation and consolidation, including the Citi retail buyout. This latest round of exits suggests a move away from relationship-heavy corporate banking toward a more structured, system-driven model.
