The sharp bottom-line acceleration was driven by operational leverage, expanding branch productivity, and a dramatic 43% YoY decline in credit costs and loan loss provisions.

The ₹65,729 Crore Gold Loan Resurgence

Gold loans continued to serve as the company's primary balance-sheet growth driver, posting multi-quarter highs:

  • 90% YoY AUM Expansion: Gold-loan AUM leaped 90% YoY and 13% sequentially to reach ₹65,729 crore, accounting for over half of total assets.
  • Pristine Credit Quality: Despite high-velocity disbursement volumes, Gross NPAs in the gold loan portfolio remained exceptionally low at 0.90%.
  • Segmental Asset Trajectory: Home Finance AUM expanded to ₹43,070 crore (up 11% sequentially), while Microfinance (MFI) AUM remained broadly flat quarter-on-quarter at ₹9,489 crore, taking total consolidated AUM to ₹1.24 lakh crore (+38% YoY).

Financial Metrics and Capital Markets Innovation

  1. Operating Efficiency & Spreads: "We expect profitability and growth momentum to continue and remain strong given the positive credit environment and operating leverage from our network," stated Vikas Jain, CFO of IIFL Finance. "Largely yield is flattish, but lower credit cost and efficiency through lower opex-to-AUM has helped drive net profit."
  2. Capital Adequacy & Liquidity Buffer: The company closed the quarter with an active liquidity cushion of ₹13,805 crore and a consolidated Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 23.5%.
  3. Pioneering Tokenised Debt: During Q2 FY27, IIFL Finance completed a ₹25 crore tokenised bond transaction, becoming the first non-PSU NBFC in India to execute a blockchain-based debt issuance.
