The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), via Press Release 2026-2027/1295 (PRID: 63773) dated October 9, 2026, has cancelled the Certificate of Registration (CoR) of 13 Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). Invoking its statutory authority under Section 45-IA (6) of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the central bank has barred these entities from transacting the business of a Non-Banking Financial Institution as defined under **clause (a) of Section 45-I of the RBI Act, 1934

The cancellation orders—signed between September 7, 2026 and September 21, 2026 and formally notified by Brij Raj (Chief General Manager, RBI)—are heavily concentrated in Eastern and Southern India, spanning 11 entities in West Bengal (10 in Kolkata and 1 in Jalpaiguri/Jaigaon) and 2 entities in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Several revoked licences date back to between 1998 and 2004, alongside newer registrations from 2014 and 2018.
