Punjab National Bank MD & CEO Ashok Chandra has confirmed the lender is on track to cross ₹20,000 crore in annual net profit for FY27.
The confidence rests on a steady quarterly run-rate: PNB has posted four consecutive quarters of ₹5,000+ crore net profit, a sharp turnaround from the era when public sector bank recoveries were measured by their ability to absorb bad loan provisions.
For FY27, the bank has guided credit growth of 12–13% and deposit growth of 9–10%, giving it a base to scale advances while funding that growth through steady deposit accretion.
PNB is also widening its lending scope. Starting Q3 FY27, the bank will officially enter acquisition finance, using updated RBI guidelines to fund M&A deals for Indian corporates — a segment traditionally dominated by private and foreign banks.
