Executive Summary

Raise Financial Services, the fintech group founded by Pravin Jadhav and parent company of retail brokerage platform Dhan, has appointed 23-year industry veteran Abhishek Singh as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its digital insurance brokerage, Pluto Insurance.

The C-suite appointment follows Raise’s acquisition of GreenLife Insurance Broking Pvt Ltd (GIBL) in May 2026, which was subsequently rebranded as Pluto Insurance in July 2026. Supported by a committed capital outlay of ₹100 crore, the platform is designed to establish an AI-led, zero-spam insurance distribution model that eliminates aggressive telemarketing and simplifies retail policy underwriting.

Executive Leadership & Technical Mandate

  • Abhishek Singh — Chief Executive Officer:
    • Brings over 23 years of institutional insurance experience.
    • Previously led the insurance vertical at Upstox and spent more than 11 years as a core executive at OneInsure, with earlier leadership stints at Edelweiss Life Insurance and PNB MetLife.
    • Mandate: Leading overall business strategy, insurer underwriting partnerships, regulatory compliance with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), and scaling customer acquisition.
  • Ranjeet Walunj — Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO):
    • Oversees the technology architecture, algorithmic policy matching engines, and self-serve user interface.

Strategic Differentiation: Challenging the Aggregator Playbook

Pluto Insurance is structured to address the key friction points of India's digital insurance brokerage landscape:

1. Zero-Spam, Self-Serve Distribution

Traditional web aggregators rely heavily on high-pressure tele-calling networks to convert leads. Pluto is architected as an automated, self-directed advisory platform that enables users to evaluate, compare, and purchase life, health, and general insurance policies without unsolicited sales calls.

2. Cross-Sell Synergies with Dhan’s Investor Ecosystem

By integrating distribution across the broader Raise Financial umbrella, Pluto can tap into Dhan’s active base of retail traders and long-term investors. This integrated wealth-to-protection corridor significantly lowers blended Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) compared to standalone insurtech platforms.

3. AI-Driven Claims & Policy Servicing

Rather than optimizing purely for point-of-sale brokerage commissions, Pluto is investing its ₹100 crore capital base into straight-through claims assistance, digital document vaults, and transparent policy fine-print explainers to drive customer retention and persistency.
