Axis Max Life Insurance has deployed GreyLabs AI's Voice AI Suite across its entire telesales operation, analysing 100% of meaningful conversations rather than sampling. The dataset spans 6 lakh+ conversations, 1.4 crore+ minutes of call time, and covers 700+ agents — one of the largest-scale voice AI deployments in Indian insurance.

The core finding challenges conventional sales wisdom: what a customer says in the opening 90–120 seconds predicts purchase likelihood better than demographic profiles or CRM lead scores. This insight prompted a strategic shift from demographic targeting toward conversation-driven qualification.

The 15% uplift in sales conversions followed this reorientation. By prioritizing early-call indicators over static customer data, the telesales operation improved its hit rate measurably — a rare quantified outcome in voice AI deployments.

GreyLabs AI, founded three years ago by IIT Bombay graduate Aman Goel, has built the infrastructure behind this deployment. Goel previously founded Cogno AI, which was acquired by Exotel. GreyLabs now powers 100+ BFSI institutions and is backed by ₹100 crore in funding from Elevation Capital and Z47.

The partnership signals a shift in how BFSI firms view AI: not as a compliance tool, but as a direct lever on revenue. Voice analytics at scale — capturing every call, not sampling — unlocks patterns individual quality assurance teams cannot detect.
