HDFC Bank's latest annual report reveals a structural shift in its workforce composition, driven by technology-led efficiency rather than simple cost-cutting.
The bank deployed its in-house AI model, Neev, alongside automated cash recycler machines to handle routine administrative and clerical tasks that previously required significant human hours.
The workforce numbers reflect this shift: non-supervisory and clerical staff fell by more than 8,000, while overall headcount saw a net reduction of 3,343.
